Leona Lewis has announced her first ever arena tour, hot on the heels of her one-off gig at London’s Hackney Empire. The 24-year-old singer's first ever tour will take in nine shows - including two nights at London's O2 Arena.
Leona Louise Lewis (born 3 April 1985) is an English pop and R&B singer–songwriter. Lewis rose to fame in 2006 as the winner of the third series of the
British television series The X Factor.
Speaking about the tour, Leona said: "I can’t wait to get out on tour and see everyone, I’m really looking forward to putting on a great show.
"Over the last few years I've had some amazing experiences and sung in some really interesting places," Leona says in a statement.
"But it's going to be great to be able to perform all my own material on my very own tour."
The tour begins on 28 May in Sheffield before concluding in Dublin on 27 June.
The tour dates are:
Sheffield Arena May 28, Liverpool Echo Arena (31), Nottingham Trent FM Arena (June 2), Manchester MEN Arena (4), Birmingham LG Arena (8), London O2 Arena (12
& 14), Glasgow SECC (20), Newcastle Metro Radio Arena (24), Dublin O2 Arena (27),
for the tour go on sale at 9.30am on Friday 27 November.
Now and again, when Leona Lewis sits down in the studio and listens back to a recording she has just made, she starts to cry. Like the millions who have been touched to their core by her voice since she won that show and began releasing a series of songs that defied preconceived ideas of what mere “talent show winners” could ever be or become, she is at times caught off guard by the haunting, ethereal quality in her own voice and is, quite simply, moved to tears.
